Paso Robles is known for its wineries, but the reg Paso Robles is known for its wineries, but the region's story extends well beyond the vineyard.

For this piece, I explored local coffee shops, regenerative lavender farming, mushroom cultivation, family-friendly attractions, and vineyards rooted in an ancient seabed.

Along the way, I learned what sets quality mushroom coffee apart, how regenerative farming helps restore the land, and why the region's landscape plays such an important role in its wines.

The full story takes a closer look at the places, people, and discoveries that reveal another side of Paso Robles. Read it at the link in bio.

This Greek wine bar allowed me to try Greek wines, which I haven't had before. This is something I've started valuing, tasting new wines when I have the chance. It allows you to expand your palate and your mind. It's especially helpful while I'm fully immersed in my wine studies to get to associate a taste with a specific region or grape I'm learning about.

It started as a reflection on moving to Los Angeles for my first love (the wrong guy) and eventually finding my true love. But somewhere along the way, it became a reflection on where my journalism career began.

Looking through old notes, photos, and emails from my time in LA reminded me how one connection changed the trajectory of my career.
LA really is where dreams are made of sometimes... as cliché as it sounds.

Read the full piece to see how one decision shaped my career, my family, and the life I have today.

I wasn't expecting a coffee shop to completely tra I wasn't expecting a coffee shop to completely transform by the end of the day.

At @upwell_wine_and_coffee, coffee is served until 3 p.m. After that, the espresso bar is hidden behind shutter doors, the pastry case is cleared, and the space becomes a wine bar. The team even explained that they remove the baked goods and coffee completely so lingering aromas don't compete with the wine.

I thought that was such an interesting detail because it shows how much intention goes into the experience, not just the menu.

That same attention to detail carries through the rest of Upwell, from Chef Rosanne Zhu's seasonal menu featuring fresh, local ingredients to a wine program curated by Master Sommelier Chris Tanghe that's approachable whether you're ordering your first glass or looking for something more unique.
