Air fryers are pretty incredible, and can make delicious food very quickly. What a lot of people don’t know is that you can also bake with your air fryer!

If something sweet is what you’re after, whip up the most delicious donuts in literal minutes using your air fryer and a tube of biscuit dough.

A small cookie cutter or a cap/lid will work to cut the centers out of the biscuit rounds.

After you’ve separated your biscuit rounds, you can decide to leave them as is or cut small holes out of the center. Either works just fine!

If you have a mini cookie cutter, use that to cut out the centers of the biscuit rounds. I didn’t have one at home, so I used a lid that went with one of my spices. A soda cap would work too!

Coffee with nutty or caramel tasting notes pairs especially well these donuts.

I have to offer my coffee pairing recommendation and that would be a medium roast coffee with nutty or caramel flavors. This type of coffee leans slightly on the bitter side (versus a sweeter light roast), which complements the sweetness of the donuts.

But really any coffee and donut pairing will do — the two were meant to be enjoyed together!

Use the center circles to make cute donut holes.

If you’ve decided to cut out the centers, you can set those mini circles aside to make adorable donut holes!

Just set your air fryer to 325°F instead of 350°F and only leave them in for about 4 to 5 minutes. They don’t need much time since they’re so small.

Make powdered sugar donuts or cinnamon sugar donuts.

You can choose to make all cinnamon sugar donuts, all powdered sugar donuts, or a little of both! I included both in the recipe so you have options.

It’s really important to make sure the donuts are thoroughly coated in butter so that the sugar stay on the bread. Otherwise, you’re left eating a very buttery biscuit.

Easy Air Fryer Cinnamon & Powdered Sugar Donuts

Total Time17 minsYields8 ServingsDifficultyBeginner

[cooked-sharing]

1 store-bought tube of biscuit dough
 ½ cup butter
 ½ cup brown sugar
 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
 ½ cup powdered sugar

Instructions
1

Separate biscuit dough. Using a small cookie cutter (or a soda lid), cut out the centers of each biscuit round. Either set these mini circles aside to make mini donut holes or combine the dough to shape one more full-sized donut.

2

Place two to three biscuit rounds into your air fryer, making sure they have at least 1 inch on each side to expand.

3

Set the air fryer to 350°F and leave the donuts in for about 7 minutes or until golden brown. To make the donut holes, set the air fryer to 325°F and leave them in for about 5 minutes or until golden brown.

4

Once the donuts have cooled, melt the butter in the microwave and place in a shallow dish.

5

Grab another shallow dish and combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Place the powdered sugar in a third shallow dish.

6

Place the bowls in the following order on the counter: butter, cinnamon sugar mixture, powdered sugar.

7

To assemble the donuts, thoroughly dunk each donut in butter followed by another dunking in either the cinnamon sugar or the powdered sugar (or both!). Make sure the donuts are fully coated.

8

Place on a baking sheet and let donuts sit for about 2 or 3 minutes before enjoying.

Which might explain why wine finally started to make sense once I stopped reading tasting notes and started standing in vineyards.

Because at the end of the day…
wine isn’t just a drink. it’s farming. 🍷🌱

I wrote a little about that realization in my newest piece on Baked Brewed Beautiful.

I usually notice the coffee first, but this time i I usually notice the coffee first, but this time it was roasted barley tea🫖

My most hospitable friend kept refilling it all day like some people keep a pot on. Toasty, nutty, unexpectedly comforting. Plus, the experience was all the more elevated with her artisan ceramics🍵

And as I was headed out the door, her mom fittingly handed me single-serve pour overs she brought back from overseas. I was shocked to discover it’s about as close as you can get to specialty coffee in a pre-packaged setup.

I’m not replacing coffee.

But barley tea made a very respectable case.
