A Latte with Roz: Visiting the Frasier Set and the Signed Saucer I’ll Never Forget

It’s not every day you get to sit on Frasier Crane’s actual couch. But earlier this week, that’s exactly what I did—alongside my husband Christopher and our baby Courtland, who (in true fashion icon form) came dressed as a tiny Fras, complete with a white cardigan. I channeled Daphne. And together, we stepped into TV history at Julien’s Auctions, where the original Frasier set was on display.

Yes, including the Café Nervosa chairs. And yes, there were latte cups.

The Set, the Couch, and the Nostalgia Hit

Walking into that recreated apartment was like stepping into memory. The clean lines of the furniture. The slightly-too-perfect bookcase. The Nervosa table, exactly as you remember it.

But the moment that really got me? Sitting down on the couch (by the way it was and much smaller in person). It was surreal. And somehow even better with Courtland on my lap, babbling happily like he’d always belonged there.

A Coffee Nerd’s Dream

As the creator of Baked, Brewed, Beautiful, I spend a lot of time thinking about how coffee fits into culture—and Frasier Crane was decades ahead of his time when it comes to café rituals. He and Niles practically lived at Café Nervosa. You could say they walked so today’s coffee snobs could run.

Would Fras approve of my oat milk latte? Probably not. But would he respect the pour-over method and a good single origin Ethiopian roast? Absolutely.

Nearby, Seattle’s own Caffe Vita was serving up the real thing—freshly brewed drip coffee from large urns, poured into tiny white espresso cups that matched the Nervosa aesthetic perfectly. The coffee was bold, balanced, and delicious—a fitting tribute to Seattle’s legacy of great local roasters, and a subtle nod to the role coffee plays in Fras’ world.

Roz, Espresso, and the Sweetest Surprise

Here’s where it all goes fully fan-girl fantasy: While we were being interviewed at the event, one of the auction organizers generously gifted me an espresso cup and saucer—signed by none other than Peri Gilpin, aka Roz Doyle. I was in total shock.

They told me they’d even send a photo to Peri so she could see the fan who received it.

I don’t think my heart will ever recover.

The Little Details

Beyond the big set pieces, some of my favorite moments came from the tiny artifacts tucked into glass displays—vintage coffee grinders, Nervosa cups, sherry glasses, and quirky props from the show’s long run. These little pieces made it feel all the more real. Like Fras could’ve walked in at any moment and adjusted a throw pillow.

From Nostalgia to Now

This visit was more than a stroll through pop culture history. It reminded me why I started Baked, Brewed, Beautiful in the first place—to celebrate the little rituals that make life feel special. The daily latte. The favorite corner of a room. The stories that come with both.

And if you’re wondering, no—I didn’t sip directly in the Nervosa chairs, but I did sit there, latte cups on the table, soaking it all in.
